Correction & Retraction

AL-MURABBI: Jurnal Studi Kependidikan dan Keislaman is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the journal will investigate the matter and determine appropriate action based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the concern, and its impact on the reliability of the article.

  1. Reporting Errors

Authors, readers, reviewers, and other parties may report errors or suspected misconduct in published articles through the journal's official contact channels. Reports should identify the article title, publication details or DOI where available, the nature of the concern, and relevant supporting evidence.

The editor conducts an initial assessment and may request clarification from the authors or other relevant parties. Reports are handled objectively and fairly, with due regard for the confidentiality of relevant information.

  1. Correction

A correction may be issued when an error in a published article requires amendment but does not undermine the overall reliability of the research findings or conclusions.

Such errors may include typographical mistakes, inaccurate information, errors in tables or figures, or other inaccuracies that need to be corrected to maintain the article's accuracy.

A correction notice must identify the information being corrected and provide the accurate information. The notice will be linked to the original article so readers can identify the changes. Corrections must not be used to conceal ethical misconduct or materially alter research findings without adequate explanation.

  1. Retraction

Retraction may be considered when sufficient evidence indicates that an article contains unreliable findings resulting from serious errors, data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, unjustified duplicate publication, research ethics violations, or other serious problems that compromise the integrity of the scholarly record.

Retraction is not imposed solely on the basis of an allegation. The editor must assess the available evidence, seek clarification from relevant parties where practicable, and consider the seriousness and impact of the concern.

A retraction notice must transparently explain the reasons for retraction and be linked to the retracted article. The article will remain in the publication archive with a clear retraction notice unless legal or safety considerations require different treatment.

  1. Expression of Concern

When a serious concern is under investigation but the available information is insufficient to determine whether correction or retraction is warranted, the editor may consider publishing an expression of concern.

The notice informs readers that an issue is being investigated. Once the investigation is completed, the editor will determine the appropriate follow-up action based on the findings.

  1. Decision-Making Process

Decisions concerning corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are made by the editor or an authorized editorial representative based on evidence, scholarly considerations, and publication ethics. Relevant authors are given a reasonable opportunity to provide clarification where necessary.

For complex cases or serious allegations, the editor may consult independent experts or relevant institutions. Conflicts of interest must be avoided throughout the investigation and decision-making process.

  1. Transparency of the Scholarly Record

AL-MURABBI aims to ensure that corrections and retractions are clearly documented and traceable by readers. Relevant notices must be linked to the original article to prevent ambiguity about its publication status.

This policy operates in conjunction with the journal's publication ethics, research misconduct, and post-publication discussion policies.
